Your privacy, confidentiality, and sense of safety are very important to me. This policy explains how I use social media and electronic communication within my practice, and what you can expect if we come into contact online.
If anything in this policy feels unclear, you are always welcome to bring it into the room and we can talk about it together. As technology changes, I may occasionally need to update this policy. If that happens, I will let you know in writing and make sure you receive the updated version.
To protect your privacy and to keep our therapeutic relationship clear and safe, I do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
I may have professional social media pages where I share updates, articles, or reflections related to my work. You are welcome to visit these pages if you wish. However, I do not interact with clients publicly online or add clients as social media contacts, as this may unintentionally affect confidentiality or blur professional boundaries.
You are under no pressure or expectation to follow my website, blog, or professional social media accounts. If you choose to do so, that is entirely your decision.
At the same time, I will not follow clients back or view personal online content unless there is a clear therapeutic reason for doing so and we have spoken about it openly. This helps maintain the clarity, respect, and professionalism that support good therapeutic work.
Please do not use social media messaging platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, or LinkedIn to contact me. These platforms are not secure, and I may not see messages in time.
If you need to get in touch between sessions, the best ways to contact me are by phone or email. WhatsApp or text message may be used for practical matters such as arranging, confirming, or changing appointments, but not for therapeutic conversations or sharing sensitive personal information.
To help protect your confidentiality, I also ask that you avoid public online interactions such as tagging me, mentioning me, or replying to me publicly on social media.
If you use location services on your phone, please keep in mind that “checking in” at my practice address may make it possible for others to assume that you are attending therapy. You may wish to consider this when using those features.
You may find my practice listed on online directories or business review websites. Some of these listings are created automatically and are not always added by me personally.
Please know that these listings are not a request for a testimonial or review. In line with the ethical standards of my professional memberships, I do not ask clients for testimonials or endorsements. You are free to express yourself online if you choose, but in order to protect confidentiality, I will not respond to any review, whether positive or negative.
Email is best used for practical matters, such as appointment times, cancellations, or brief administrative questions. Because email is not completely secure, it is not the best place for sharing sensitive or deeply personal material.
If you ever feel the need to send something more personal in writing, we can discuss together the safest and most appropriate way to do that.
If you need to phone or text, please do so between 10:00 and 20:00. If I am with another client or unable to reply straight away, I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping me keep this work respectful.
